BALI National Landscape Awards 2009
We are delighted and honoured to receive two Awards for domestic garden schemes. At the recent Award Ceremony held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London in December hosted by Rogue Traders frontman Matt Allwright, we scooped a Principal Award for a garden owned by Mr and Mrs Ian Taylor of Cheltenham and designed by Chris Beardshaw in the category £50,000 to £100,000. The Flower Garden at Nether Lypiatt Manor, Stroud in the category £100,000 to £250,000 also won an Award. This is a fantastic achievement in the present climate and our success is down to the skilled staff and the effort they put into it.
Association of Professional Landscapers
This year we became members of the APL, a speciliast group within the Horticultural Trades Association. As a member we are also registered with the governments endorsed Trust Mark Scheme. We have entered five projects into the APL Awards and the winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony in February 2010 so Watch This Space.
Carisbrooke Castle, Isle of Wight
We are pleased to have been the landscape contractor for the installation works of The Princess Beatrice Garden within the castle grounds. The walled privy garden is a collaboration between English Heritage, who look after Carisbrooke Castle on behalf of the nation, and award-winning garden designer and BBC2's Gardener's World presenter Chris Beardshaw. The new garden will contain every element of a fashionable Edwardian garden.
Wiltshire Life Initiative Awards 2009
Held at Wilton House in March 2009 the restored 17th century Puritan Silk-Merchants House garden in Marlborough designed by Jeffrey Galvin-Wright was awarded 'Wiltshire Garden of the Year - 2009'. This was a community project re-created with all generous donors who had sponsored plots in the garden. Hillier Landscapes were proud to be involved in the recreation of the garden.
