The Sculpture Garden

Inspired by and to maintain a dialogue with the heritage architecture and context. This garden is a contemporary space of strong lines and forms utilising sculpture and light. The planting showing colour from foliage and flower are measured but bountiful. The scheme reflects the importance and superb beauty in the architecture of the house. Secret corners that give this small space the feeling of a much larger garden lead into an ever changing vista providing areas for meditation, relaxation, or a superb alfresco dining experience.

BALI Judges’ Comments

Inspired both by the surrounding Regency architecture for which Cheltenham is renowned, and the fact that the building itself has just received a Civic Award, the garden not only reflects the building but also the artistic taste of its owners and the contents of their home; everything in its place and a place for everything. A happy blend of strong and soft lines, the garden is a beautiful outside room created with exemplary workmanship to the very highest standards.
